Admissions
If you have a child who is to start school in September 2025 the closing date for applications is January 15th 2025.
The on-line application system goes live on 1st September 2024 at www.lancashire.gov.uk/schools and search under ‘school admissions’.
If you need any clarification about procedures etc, please contact us.
The Local Authority will issue Offer letters in April 2025.
If you secure a place for your child at St Oswald’s, you will hopefully be invited to our Induction Programme called ‘Little Owls' which will start June 2025 and will run on a Wednesday morning for 5 weeks. This will provide a brilliant induction to school life and will ease the transitions from nursery or home to school. How exciting!
Our first Open Morning of the year will be Thursday 17th October 2024 from 9.15am - 10.15am and gives you the opportunity to see the school in action! Alternatively you can contact the office to arrange a visit. We also have an Open Morning on Tuesday 1st July from 9.15am - 10.15am.
Please click on the links below for St Oswald’s Admissions Policy for 2025/2026 and Supplementary Faith Form. The Supplementary Faith Form is essential for correct ranking in the Admissions Criteria. This form MUST be returned back to school before the closing date 15th January 2025.
Primary School Appeals

By law we must publish the dates on which appeals for September intake admissions will be heard.
These are provisional dates and are subject to change. Days could be added to or cancelled depending on the volume of appeals lodged and panel/clerk availability.
The deadline to submit an appeal is:
22nd May 2025 for primary reception appeals
31st March 2025 for secondary Year 7 appeals
Any appeals submitted after the deadline may be heard after all on time appeals have been heard.
An appeals officer will be in touch with you by e-mail before the hearing date and will provide full details.
In Year Admissions
In-year admission is the process of applying for a school place during the school year. Any application for the intake made after the start of the autumn term will be treated as an in-year application.
The in-year admission process is managed by the school. Parents are required to complete the in-year application form, which is available below. Where a place cannot be secured, parents will be offered a legal right to appeal to an independent appeal panel. Lancashire County Council administers the appeals process on behalf of the school. Parents can complete the school’s appeal form Appeal for a school place – Lancashire County Council on Lancashire county council’s website.
